Context
The Students' Nobel NightCap is a renowned afterparty following the Nobel Prize ceremonies, with each year featuring a secret theme. This year's theme, Wonders of Nature, transformed the event into an immersive journey through breathtaking subthemes like the Boreal Forest, Vibrant Oceans, and Glaciers of Antarctica.
Objective
Our goal was to create cohesive and visually stunning materials - including a booklet (detailing food and beverages, activities, floor plan, and sponsors), menus, signs, and a photo wall - that captured the event's theme while being practical and readable in a lively, dimly-lit setting.
Process + Role
I contributed by firstly creating a mood board, developing a vibrant colour palette, and curating illustrations for the themes. Through a proactive approach I designed a contemporary "atlas"-style booklet with traditional touches like gold-foil and classic typography and adapted the visual style for the printed materials to ensure visibility.
Additionally, I illustrated floorplans and a world map with hidden details, prepared all files for print, and collaborated closely with the team through weekly meetings to align on vision and ideas, divide responsibilities, and help each other out.
During the big event, I photographed guests and activities, capturing the immersive atmosphere and the designed elements in action.
Result
The materials brought the Wonders of Nature to life, creating a seamless experience for the guests. Thoughtful design details ensured functionality and aesthetic appeal, while photography documented the event's energy and cohesive visual storytelling.
